PART 4

Many things for these cities are known from the epic poetry, mainly Homer’s and Esiodo’s, although they describe an older than the Mycenaean society. The first European civilization was baptized in the Aegean Sea and developed in the maybe MOST beautiful islands of the world, the Cyclades. The name of the Sea is also related with Athenian history, that of Aegeus, ancient Greek hero. The centre of this culture is the island of Santorini(older name Oia) and its volcano. Greeks from the beginning of their history(Invasion of the Dorians-one of the 4 main Greek tribes, races-), spread in the Mediterranean. They founded colonies in S. Italy and Sicily, Ionia(Minor Asia), even in North Africa. But they went and in the Black Sea(or Pontus as it’s known, from a Greek myth), because there were/are grains, necessary throughout the centuries in nutrition. Ancient Greece extends in Epirus(were the first oracle of the ancient world, dedicated to Zeus; his priests, Selloi, related, because of their name, with the Hellines(= Greeks)), Thessaly, Macedonia(Macednos is related with Hellin, the generator of Greeks, the “Vergina Star” is from an Athenian vessel(from Athena’s shield (aegis)), see and “CSI NEW YORK” if you don’t believe), Alexander the Great admired Achilles, from the ILIAD he was reading like maniac, his teacher was the Macedonian Greek Aristotle and wears in many pictures a lion head like Hercules, he also wanted to take revenge from the Persians for their disasters in Greece during the Persian Wars, Phillip B’ participated in the Olympic Games, games ONLY for GREEK male-only- athletes and he had won(he wears his prize in some coins), Thrace(in mythology Europa’s sister), Peloponese, Ionian and Aegean Sea. Every part of Greece have a GREAT past. Very few exeptions. In this area, small of which is modern Greece, civilization reached perhaps in perfection. Poetry (lyric, epic), music(from the Muses) and instruments(for example lyre, found nowadays in Crete and Pontians(children and grandchildren of Pontus’ refugees(1922) brought their culture in Greece), philosophy, drama(comedy, tragedy, parody), oracles, mythology, religion, mythical wars, creatures, sports(some said recently that basket and football routes come from Greek past, but it’s not certain) and games, temples, theatres and their technology, language and it’s contribution in all the European modern languages(all come from ancient Greek and Latin), sculpture etc. Parthenon is the first thing someone says when he’s/she’s hearing the question “what do you know about ancient Greece”. A temple dedicated in Athens’ protector goddess Athena, because she saved the city from the Persians. She owed a better temple than the older Parthenon, destroyed from Persians. It’s the symbol of Western Culture. But no one respected it after the Byzantine Era. Byzantines (as Christians Orthodox, with centre of their “universe” Constantinople(from 1453 Istanbul)) turned it in a Christian temple dedicated in Virgin Mary, Ottomans built a mosque inside it but they soon left it as the Parthenon’s orientation isn’t in Mecca and built a new mosque under the Sacred Rock, symbol of the Ottoman occupation of Athens, and they turned the temple in explosives’ storage! Morozini destroyed big part of the temple with a canon ball. And Elgin, member of a smuggler family, destroyed and stole some of the most beautiful sculptural parts of it’s decoration. His ship sank in Cythera and when he returned in Britain he stored his “loot” in a wet storage in Scotland. He got divorce from his wife, for which he commit this artistic crime-murder-(he wanted to take in Britain all the temple and the Erectheion maybe, and turn it into a palace) and he bankrupt. So he sold in British government the “Marbles” and then they were put in the British Museum, which denies even after the opening of the BEST MUSEUM in the world, the New Acropolis Museum in Athens, to BRING THEM BACK. We answer in “LONDON 2012” that you won’t take the Olympic Flame. NO MARBLES NO FLAME! Without it how the Olympics will be Olympics? The “Marbles” are THE TOP smuggling of Greek antiquities. There isn’t European capital or great/ important city without stolen Greek monuments. Your museums earn billions, if not trillions, from products of criminal action. No one respected Greece after the Roman Empire. Greeks NEVER ruled their country and life since then. They were just a part of an Empire or Great Power. Romans had respect about Greeks and buildings in Greece show it. All the other eras left bad remaining.
