A FEW THINGS ABOUT YOUR "EUROPA" CARTOON(see the photo). I'M LOOKING FORWARD FOR YOUR ANSWER.

TO STEVE BELL, CARTOONIST

In June 17^th you published in your newspaper “GUARDIAN” a cartoon inspired by the Greek € 2 coin. The original coin shows the Greek myth of Europe, from which the European continent took its name. You replaced the beautiful in everyone’s eyes(Europe means beautiful in the eyes-etymology-) princess Europe with chancellor Angela Dorothea Merkel(I’m wondering how her pastor father-she’s a priest’s daughter but she doesn’t act like a good Christian- gave her names which mean angel and God’s gift(Dorothea means this in Greek)). And the bull-Zeus’ head with French President’s Nicolas Sarkozy. Frau Angela is doing the inappropriate gesture, which shocked my people in German FOCUS magazine(with Venus).  Zeus had taste sir. Merkel was out of every man’s taste I think. Greeks answered in every insult from German Media. The top of them is the demand for Parthenon (monuments are not for sale), Crete, Corfu and Greek islands in general. We didn’t say anything bad for Germans. But magazines like BILD and FOCUS continued and the one follows the same tactic even today. We sent only a Satyr in them as a photo in our answers. Germany owes Greece the money from the Second World War and German companies DON’T pay taxes for ANY of their not so legal activities in Greece(see SIEMENS). We stand in difficulties and survive. We are the nation which gave humanity almost everything in our 3,500 years’ history. And especially European Great Powers stole many of them(antiquities like the Marbles of Parthenon and Venus of Milo). We have gone through bailouts many times in our modern history, because of our authorities’ greed and dependence from Britain in 18^th and 19^th century and USA and Germany in the 20^th-21^th. But our ancestors gave in Europe its civilization and the most of the governments don’t appreciate this. We invented Democracy but our modern leaders preferred to sacrifice it for usurer’s and bankers’ money. We don’t embezzle Germans’ tax money as Merkel says. And we don’t lie all day in the beach and we are not lazy. Just publish our answers in BILD and FOCUS and everyone will learn how we feel about our crisis. Your cartoons are very good, but this was very insulting. Please don’t follow German merkelistic, populist media manners.
